About Correlations:

The correlation of Mayan dates to our date system is a matter of some speculation. Using various methods, the start of the Long Count (0.0.0.0.0 4 Ahau 8 Cumku) has been pegged at one of two Julian days: 584,283 or 584,285.

This program defaults to 584285, which is now generally considered the more accurate. Many existing programs, however, still use the older correlation of 584,283. If you desire compatibility with them, or if you prefer to work with the older correlation, check the "use older correlation" box.

Use BC/AD:
MayaDate's western calendar is the Gregorian proleptic calendar. This means that the cycles of the Gregorian calendar are projected back before the calendar was invented. The Gregorian proleptic calendar, by default, represents years before year 1 with first a zero year, corresponding to 1BC, and then negative years stretching back. If you would rather see these years represented in the traditional years BC manner, check "Use BC/AD".
